Seedance pricing

Seedancee sells two plans, Starter and Pro, each billed weekly, monthly or yearly. Every plan adds credits each billing period, and each generation costs credits that depend on the model, duration, resolution and audio. The exact cost is shown before you generate, and failed generations are refunded automatically. Configuring a shot and seeing its price is free; generating needs a subscription.

Weekly and monthly plans add their credits with every paid invoice. Yearly plans are billed once a year, cost about two months less than paying monthly, and add credits every month of the year; their monthly allowance is a little smaller than the monthly plan's, as the plan cards show. Unused subscription credits roll over to the next period, up to one period's allowance (one week's credits on weekly plans, one month's on monthly and yearly plans); anything above that expires when the next credits arrive. There is no unlimited plan: every plan is a credit amount you can check against the estimator below.

Without a plan you can still open the generator, try every setting and see the exact cost. Options that need Pro are shown with a lock and a Pro badge rather than hidden, so you can see what an upgrade adds before you buy it.

Credit packs for subscribers

Subscribers who need more credits within a period can buy one-time credit packs from the billing page. Packs are only sold while you have an active subscription. Pack credits do not expire and are used after your subscription credits. If you cancel, pack credits stay in your account but can only be spent again once you resubscribe.

Switching and cancelling

Plan changes and cancellations go through the Stripe billing portal, which changes your existing subscription rather than adding a second one. You can cancel at any time: the plan and its credits stay usable until the end of the period you paid for, and it does not renew.

Estimate the cost of a generation

Pick a model, duration, resolution and audio setting. The estimator runs the same cost function the generator uses, so the number here equals the credits that would be reserved for that generation, and shows roughly how many such generations each monthly plan covers, or that the settings need Pro.

How the price is calculated

Credits = duration in seconds × the model's credits per second × a resolution multiplier × an audio multiplier, plus a charge for an attached reference video that grows with the clip's length (with a flat minimum), rounded up and never below the model's minimum charge. Higher resolutions cost more per second and 4K (Seedance 2.0 only) carries the largest multiplier. Native audio is free on the Seedance 2.x models (the provider does not charge for it) and doubles the rate on Seedance 1.5 Pro. Reference images and audio files are free. Choosing automatic duration is quoted at the model's maximum length.

Seedance 2.5 has the highest base rate per second, reflecting 30-second output and reference control.
Seedance 2.0 has a lower base rate but is the only model with a 4K multiplier.
Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini are the cheapest per second and are capped at 720p; Mini also has the lowest minimum charge.
Seedance 1.5 Pro sits between Mini and 2.0 and offers 1080p on the Pro plan.

Refunds and failed generations

Credits are handled as an append-only ledger. When you start a generation, the quoted credits are reserved, not spent. If the provider reports success, the reservation is captured. If the generation fails for any reason, including provider errors, moderation rejection after submission, or a timeout, the reservation is released automatically and the credits are back in your balance without a support ticket. You can see every reservation, capture and release in your billing history.

Purchases of subscriptions and credit packs are covered by the refund policy, and subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and remain active until the end of the paid period. Credits already consumed by successful generations are not refundable, because the provider has already been paid for them.

Free access and the API

There is no free plan and no free generation. Anyone can configure a shot and see its exact cost without an account; generating needs a subscription, from $4.99 a week for Starter. The developer API is in early access: while it is open, Pro workspaces can create API keys, and API generations use the same credit pricing and automatic refunds as the workspace.

How much does Seedance cost?

On Seedancee, plans start at $4.99 a week (Starter, 350 credits per week). Starter and Pro are also sold monthly and yearly. Each generation costs credits based on model, duration, resolution and audio; use the estimator above for an exact figure. The dollar figure shown next to a credit estimate counts one credit as one US cent; it is a display equivalent, not a price. What a credit actually costs depends on the plan or pack you buy, about 1.13 to 1.43 US cents at current prices (Pro yearly is the cheapest per credit, the weekly Starter plan the most expensive). Prices exclude tax.

What is the difference between Starter and Pro?

Starter covers Seedance 2.0 Mini, 2.0 Fast and 1.5 Pro at up to 720p and clips up to 10 seconds, with text-to-video, image-to-video and reference-to-video. Pro adds Seedance 2.5 and 2.0, up to 1080p (4K on Seedance 2.0), clips up to each model's maximum, reference videos, edit and extend, and developer API access when the API's early access is open (the API page shows its status).

Is Seedance pricing per second?

Yes. Each model has a credits-per-second base rate, multiplied by a resolution factor (and by 2 for audio on Seedance 1.5 Pro only), with a minimum charge per generation and an extra charge for an attached reference video based on its length.

What happens if my generation fails?

The reserved credits are released back to your balance automatically. You are only charged for generations the provider completes successfully.

Do credits expire?

Unused subscription credits roll over, up to one billing period's allowance; credits above that cap expire when the next period's credits arrive. Credit pack credits do not expire, but they can only be spent while you have an active subscription.

Can I buy credits without a subscription?

No. Credit packs are sold to subscribers only, from the billing page, for when you need more credits within a period. Without a subscription you can still configure generations and see their cost.

How does yearly billing work?

Yearly plans are paid once a year and cost about two months less than twelve monthly payments. Their credits arrive every month rather than all at once; the monthly allowance is a little smaller than on the monthly plan, and the plan cards show it with the yearly total.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Do prices include tax?

No. Prices are shown in US dollars excluding tax. Where VAT or sales tax applies, it is calculated and added at checkout.

Is 4K more expensive?

Yes. 4K (available on Seedance 2.0 with the Pro plan) has the highest resolution multiplier. Select 4K in the estimator to see the exact cost for your duration.

Does the API cost the same as the workspace?

Yes. API generations use the same credit pricing and the same automatic refunds as the workspace. The API is in early access: while it is open, Pro workspaces can use it. The API page shows its current status.

Will prices change?

Possibly. Prices are versioned. Any change is announced on the changelog and applies to future purchases and quotes only; credits you already hold keep their value.
