Seedance free: what is actually available at no cost
Short answer: there is no free Seedance generation on Seedancee, and no unlimited free Seedance anywhere we can verify. Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 are paid per generation on every provider we know of, and ByteDance's own channels offer limited trials rather than open access. On Seedancee you can configure any shot and see its exact cost for free; generating a video needs a subscription, with plans from $4.99 a week. This page also compares the official trial routes, so you can decide without being redirected to a checkout.
What you can do on Seedancee for free
- Use the full generator without an account: choose any active model (Seedance 2.5, 2.0, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini, 1.5 Pro), write a prompt, set duration, ratio, resolution and audio, and see the exact credit cost before anything is charged.
- Browse every template scaffold and example prompt on the site and open them prefilled in the generator.
- Read the model pages, capability tables, comparison and guides; all of it is verified against primary sources with dates.
- Create a free account to save drafts and keep a personal library.
What you cannot do for free: run a generation. Generating needs a subscription, because every generation reserves credits that Seedancee pays Kie.ai for per job. The cheapest plan is Starter at $4.99 a week (350 credits per week, prices exclude tax), and you can cancel at any time. We would rather say that plainly than build a "free generator" that only leads to a paywall.
Configure a generation now
When you press Generate, your settings and files are saved, you create an account and choose a plan, and the video starts as soon as the subscription is active. Options marked Pro need the Pro plan; everything else works on Starter.
Trial credits
Seedancee has a trial-credits program that can grant new accounts a small, one-time amount of credits, but it is switched off; the status box at the top of this page always shows the live setting. If it is ever switched on, the box shows the exact amount and the claim window, there is one trial per person, and duplicate or automated accounts break the acceptable-use policy.
Official and provider trial routes, compared
People searching for "seedance free" or "seedance 2.0 free" usually want to know where any free access exists at all. This is what we can verify as of 29 September 2026. Availability, regions and quotas change; check the linked pages before relying on them.
| Route | Who runs it | Free? | Notes (verified 2026-09-29) |
|---|---|---|---|
| ByteDance official channels (as described on the Seedance 2.5 and 2.0 model pages, e.g. Dola / BytePlus playground) | ByteDance | Limited trial | ByteDance's model pages point to its own apps and a developer playground. Trials are metered and region-dependent; check the official page for current terms. |
| Kie.ai hosted API | Kie.ai | No | Paid credits per generation for seedance-2-5, seedance-2, seedance-2-fast, seedance-2-mini and seedance-1.5-pro. This is the provider Seedancee uses. |
| Seedancee | Seedancee (independent) | No | Free generator configuration, cost quotes, templates and guides. Generating needs a subscription, from $4.99 a week (checked 2026-10-02). |
| "Free unlimited Seedance" sites | Third parties | Claims vary | We cannot verify these. Many run a different model, add watermarks, or gate downloads behind payment. Treat with caution. |
Seedancee is not affiliated with ByteDance or Kie.ai. We list the official routes because it is the honest answer to the question, not because we earn anything from them.
Why there is no free tier
Each Seedance generation costs real compute at the provider, billed to Seedancee per job. A free tier would either have to be subsidised indefinitely or quietly degraded with queues and watermarks. Instead, we show the price before you commit, refund failed generations automatically, and sell a weekly plan so you can try real generations for a few dollars and cancel whenever you like.
Cheapest ways to try Seedance on Seedancee
- Start with the Starter weekly plan and cancel when the week is enough; the plan stays active until the end of the paid week.
- Draft with Seedance 2.0 Mini at 480p for 4–5 seconds; it carries the lowest minimum charge of any model.
- Turn native audio off for silent drafts and back on for the final take.
- Use the estimator on the pricing page to see how many generations a plan covers at your settings before paying.

FAQ
Is Seedance 2.0 free?
No. Seedance 2.0 is paid per generation on Kie.ai and on Seedancee, where it is part of the Pro plan. ByteDance's own channels offer limited, metered trials as described on its official model page.
Is Seedance 2.5 free?
No. The same applies to Seedance 2.5: paid per generation on providers, limited official trials from ByteDance, and on Seedancee part of the Pro plan.
Does Seedancee give free credits?
No, not today. Generating needs a subscription, from $4.99 a week. A trial-credits program exists but is switched off; the status box at the top of this page reads the live setting and would show the exact amount if it were switched on.
Can I use the Seedance generator without an account?
Yes, to configure everything and see the credit estimate. Pressing Generate saves your draft, asks you to create an account and choose a plan, and starts the video once your subscription is active.
What is the cheapest way to try Seedance on Seedancee?
The Starter weekly plan: $4.99 a week (excluding tax) for 350 credits, with Seedance 2.0 Mini, 2.0 Fast and 1.5 Pro at up to 720p. You can cancel at any time and the plan runs until the end of the paid week.
Is there an unlimited Seedance plan?
No. All Seedancee plans are credit-based and the amounts are listed on the pricing page. We do not advertise unlimited generation because provider costs are per job.
Are there free Seedance alternatives?
Some other video models offer free tiers with queues or watermarks. Our comparison pages describe them factually; none of them are Seedance, and we do not relabel other models as Seedance.
What happens to my credits if a generation fails?
They are released back to your balance automatically. The credit ledger reserves credits at submission and only captures them when the provider reports success.
