Where can you use Seedance?
There is no single 'Seedance website' you sign up to. The models reach users through ByteDance's own channels, through API providers that license them, and through independent products built on those providers. This page separates the four routes so you can pick the one that fits, and it carries a verification date because access changes.
The four access routes
| Route | Who runs it | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seedancee workspace | Seedancee (independent) | Web workspace with all five Seedance variants, references, audio, credits and projects; developer API in early access | Creators and teams who want a working tool plus documentation |
| Official ByteDance channels | ByteDance / BytePlus | Dola chat interface, BytePlus Playground, official API | Enterprise buyers and anyone who wants first-party access |
| Third-party API providers | e.g. Kie.ai | Raw model endpoints with async jobs and callbacks | Developers building their own product |
| Other independent apps | Various | Consumer front-ends on top of a provider | Depends on the app; check disclosures |
1. Seedancee
Seedancee is an independent creation platform. We run Seedance through Kie.ai and expose Seedance 2.5, 2.0, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini and 1.5 Pro in one workspace with text, image and reference modes, native audio, a credit estimate before every job, projects, a reusable asset library and a developer API in early access. We are not ByteDance and do not claim to be. What we add is the workflow around the model: consistent references across shots, honest model documentation, and the Seedance Lab tests.
Start in the Seedancee workspace
A credit estimate before every job. No provider keys to manage.
2. ByteDance's official channels
ByteDance's official Seedance 2.5 page names three ways to use the model: the Dola chat interface, the BytePlus Playground, and an API (the page's "Get API" call to action). BytePlus is ByteDance's international enterprise cloud brand, so the Playground and API are aimed at business and developer customers. We link to the official page rather than describing sign-up steps, because those flows change and we do not want to publish stale instructions.
3. Third-party API providers
Providers such as Kie.ai license Seedance and expose it through their own APIs. As of 2026-09-29, Kie.ai lists Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini and 1.5 Pro. Jobs are asynchronous: you create a task, then poll or receive a callback. Kie's documented rate limit is 20 requests per 10 seconds and output files expire after 14 days, so any serious integration has to copy results to its own storage. This is the route Seedancee itself uses.
4. Other independent apps
Many websites offer 'Seedance' generation. Some are legitimate front-ends built on a provider, like ours; some are re-labelled generic models; some are outright scams collecting card details. Before paying anyone, check three things: does the site say who it is and that it is independent of ByteDance, does it name the provider or model version it runs, and does it show the cost before you generate.
Which route should you pick?
- 01
You want to make videos today
Use a workspace. Seedancee gives you references, audio and a library without writing code.
- 02
You are building a product
Go to a provider API (or the Seedancee API, in early access, if you want credits, moderation and storage handled).
- 03
You are an enterprise buyer
Start from ByteDance's official page and the BytePlus channel.
- 04
You want to run it locally
You cannot, as far as we can verify. There are no public weights. See our open-source guide.
Access by region
Seedancee is available wherever our payment provider and hosting can serve you; we do not geo-block the workspace. ByteDance's own channels and third-party providers have their own regional rules. Our regional access guide tracks what we know.
What 'access' does not include
- Model weights or code: not publicly released as far as we can verify.
- A desktop or mobile Seedance app from ByteDance: none that we can verify.
- 'Unlimited' or 'no credits' Seedance: every generation costs compute; any site promising unlimited free Seedance is either rate-limiting you heavily or not running Seedance.
FAQ
Is there an official Seedance website?
ByteDance Seed publishes the official model pages at seed.bytedance.com, including the Seedance 2.5 page, which names the Dola chat interface, BytePlus Playground and an API as access channels. Seedancee is not the official site.
Can I use Seedance 2.5 on Seedancee right now?
Yes. Seedance 2.5 (launched 2026-07-31) is the default model in the Seedancee workspace, alongside Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini and 1.5 Pro. The status page shows live availability.
Which is better: official access or a third-party platform?
Official access gives you first-party terms and enterprise support. Third-party platforms add workflow tools, simpler billing and documentation. If you just want to make videos, a workspace is faster; if you are procuring for a company, start with ByteDance.
Does Seedance work in the US and Europe?
Seedancee does not restrict access by region. Availability of ByteDance's own channels varies; see our regional access guide for what we have verified.
How do I get a Seedance API key?
Either from ByteDance's official API channel, from a provider such as Kie.ai, or from Seedancee's API section once API access is enabled for your workspace (early access). Seedancee keys give you the same models with credits, storage and moderation handled.
Are there free Seedance sites?
Some platforms offer trial credits. Seedancee does not: you can configure a shot and see its cost for free, and generating needs a subscription, from $4.99 a week. Fully free, unlimited Seedance generation does not exist because each job costs compute. Be cautious with sites that promise otherwise.
