Seedance 1.5 Pro video generator
Seedance 1.5 Pro is the previous-generation Seedance model still served by Kie.ai. It handles text-to-video and image-to-video (up to two input images) at 480p to 1080p for 4–12 seconds, generates native audio and offers a fixed-lens option that the 2.x models do not. It is the model to reach for when you want a locked camera or a lower-cost 1080p clip without references.

What is Seedance 1.5 Pro?
Seedance 1.5 Pro belongs to the 1.x line of ByteDance Seed's Seedance video models, released before Seedance 2.0 arrived on 12 February 2026. Where the 2.x generation added multimodal references (many images, clips and audio in one request), 1.5 Pro works from a prompt and up to two input images, typically a first frame and a last frame. It generates synchronized audio and, unusually in the family, supports a fixed-lens mode that holds the camera still for the whole clip.
Seedancee offers Seedance 1.5 Pro through Kie.ai (bytedance/seedance-1.5-pro) in the same workspace as 2.0 and 2.5. We keep it available because it fills two practical gaps: a locked-off camera without prompt gymnastics, and a cheaper 1080p option (on the Pro plan) for simple shots that do not need references. As with every model here, the capabilities come from a registry we verify against Kie's documentation; Seedancee is independent of ByteDance.
Create with Seedance 1.5 Pro
Configuring a generation and seeing its cost is free; generating needs a subscription. Seedance 1.5 Pro is included in both plans (Starter and Pro): Starter, from $4.99 a week, runs it at up to 720p and 10-second clips, and Pro unlocks 1080p and its full 12 seconds.

As listed by Kie.ai on 29 September 2026: 480p, 720p and 1080p output; 4 to 12 seconds; MP4 output; up to two input images; no reference images, videos or audio beyond those two frames; native audio; and the fixed_lens parameter. Automatic duration is not offered for this model.
When 1.5 Pro is the right choice
- Fixed-lens shots: product on a turntable, a locked interior, an interview-style frame, a timelapse where any camera drift would ruin the effect.
- Simple first-to-last-frame animations where you do not need extra references.
- Lower-cost 1080p clips of 4–12 seconds when 2.0's price at the same resolution is not justified.
- Reproducing older 1.x-era results for a project that must stay visually consistent with them.
It is the wrong choice for character consistency across shots (no reference images), anything longer than 12 seconds, delivery above 1080p, or workflows that depend on editing and extension. Those are Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 territory.
Workflows and audio
Text-to-video and image-to-video are supported; reference-to-video is not, because the model does not accept reference media. Native audio is generated from the prompt in the same way as on the 2.x models. The fixed-lens toggle appears in the generator only when this model is selected, since no other active model supports it.

Locked camera, no movement. A hand-thrown speckled stoneware mug rotates slowly on a wooden turntable against a warm grey backdrop, soft top light, subtle shadow sweep as it turns. Clean, quiet, product-catalogue look. Sound: a faint wooden creak as the turntable rotates.

FAQ
Is Seedance 1.5 Pro free?
No. Generations cost credits on Seedancee and are paid on Kie.ai, and generating needs a subscription; there are no free trial credits. It is usually cheaper per second than Seedance 2.0 or 2.5 at the same resolution; the pricing estimator shows the exact figure.
Which plan includes Seedance 1.5 Pro?
Both. Starter runs it at up to 720p and 10 seconds per clip; Pro adds 1080p output and the full 12 seconds. The "Pro" in the model's name is ByteDance's and is unrelated to Seedancee's Pro plan.
What does fixed lens mean in Seedance 1.5 Pro?
Fixed lens instructs the model to keep the camera stationary for the whole clip: no pans, pushes or handheld motion. Subjects still move. It is unique to 1.5 Pro among the active models on Seedancee.
Does Seedance 1.5 Pro support reference images?
Only up to two input images, used as first and last frames. It does not accept the multi-image, video and audio references that Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 support.
How long can Seedance 1.5 Pro videos be?
4 to 12 seconds per generation, at 480p, 720p or 1080p, as listed by Kie.ai on 29 September 2026.
Should I use Seedance 1.5 Pro or Seedance 2.0?
Use 1.5 Pro for locked-camera shots and cheap 1080p clips without references. Use 2.0 for 4K, for reference-driven consistency and for shots up to 15 seconds. Use 2.5 for anything longer or anything you will need to edit or extend.
Does Seedance 1.5 Pro have audio?
Yes. Native audio is generated from the prompt when enabled.
